What is ChuSeok?
ChuSeok is a major harvest festival and a three-day holiday in Korea celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar on the full moon. As a celebration of the good harvest, Koreans visit their ancestral hometowns and share a feast of Korean traditional food such as songpyeon (송편) and rice wines such as sindoju and dongdongju. Songpyeon (송편) is a traditional Korean food made of glutinous rice called of tteok, small rice cakes, and it became a popular symbol of traditional Korean culture. Woori Market will have fresh made songpyeon (송편) available to you during the week starting September 29th since this year, Chuseok starts on October 3rd.
